ASIA TAIWANESE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE

ASIA TAIWANESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE The Asia Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (ASTCC) is the parent association of Asia Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Junior CHapter (ASTCCJC). Between 1990 and 1992, various Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Southeast Asian countries were established one after another. However, the Taiwanese chambers of commerce in various countries have little interaction and lack contact with each other. In view of this, Mr. Yu Shengqing, the founding president of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Thailand, and the presidents of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and other countries, initiated the formation of the ASTCC, which won an unanimous recognition and approval of various Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in different countries.

Mr. Yu Shengqing also contacted the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the Taiwan Government, hoping that the Taiwanese government would support the establishment of ASTCC, with the strong support of Mr. Xiao Wanchang, then Minister of Economy, and Mr. Zhang Xiaoyan, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission of that time. On July 20, 1993, at Taipei Regent Hotel, the Asia Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce was founded.

After 20 to 30 years, many Taiwanese businessmen from various countries have already have deep roots in their invested Asian countries. Most of the second generation grew up locally and were educated abroad. These new generations have a good educational background and can speak multiple languages. Under such excellent conditions, the ASTCC have decided to establish the Asia Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Youth League in 2012, which was renamed as Asia Taiwanese Chamber Junior Chapter on the same year. Aiming to encourage young businessmen to integrate into the local mainstream society, at the same time guide the young businessmen to gradually carry on the legacy of ASTCC, and achieve generational change; in this way, the foundation of Taiwanese businessmen in various countries can be more solid and solid.
